ABOUT ME
Mackenzie Shiba M.S. CCC-SLP
I am a speech-language pathologist and the owner of Communication Blooms. I offer personalized speech and language therapy in Lodi, California. In all services I provide, I believe in a client-centered therapy model. My therapeutic style includes child-led, play-based activities. I will acknowledge your child's unique strengths and differences and support them with any challenges they may have. I am a neurodiversity affirming therapist.
I am a California licensed speech-language pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I earned a Bachelor degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from San Jose State University and a Master degree in Speech-Language Pathology from University of the Pacific.
In addition to private home-based therapy services, I have worked in the general and special education school-based settings and in pediatric home health. I have experience working with clients ranging in age from 1 to 22 years of age and with a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate, Receptive Language Delay, Expressive Language Delay, Apraxia, and Phonological Processing Disorder.
I am an AAC Specialist, NLA Trained (echolalia, scripting, gestalt language processing), PROMPT Trained, and Hanen It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words Certified.
I am continually grateful for the opportunity to work with families and to encourage clients' blooming communication skills.
