The Mama Behind the Method
Mackenzie Shiba, M.S., CCC-SLP, CMT®
Founder & CEOI built Blooming Babies because I lived the gap it fills.
When my kids were babies I was already a licensed speech-language pathologist. And I still didn't know what to watch for. I traveled to the Bay Area and Modesto — multiple times — just to find someone who would look at my babies and take me seriously. I pieced together care from virtual providers out of desperation. I watched my son struggle with obstructive airway issues as a toddler and wondered why nobody in San Joaquin County had answers.
I had the credentials. I still felt lost.
That experience shaped everything about how I practice and exactly why Blooming Babies exists. So that you don't have to travel, search, or wonder anymore. So that someone sits down with you — in person, in Lodi — and actually walks you through what matters in your baby's first two years.
I specialize in airway, feeding, infant oral motor, language development, and myofunctional therapy. I have spent my career looking for what others miss. And I built this program so you can too.
You belong here.

Frequently Asked Questions
We built Blooming Babies to feel like the most supported room you've ever walked into. That includes how we handle the logistics.
-
Yes. Your registration covers your family unit. Annual members also receive one free guest pass to bring a friend or family member to any session.
-
Absolutely. The 0-2 window covers a wide range and many topics are just as relevant for a 20-month-old as for a newborn. If you are not sure whether a specific month's topic fits where your baby is, reach out and Mackenzie will tell you honestly.
-
No. Blooming Babies is a parent education workshop, not therapy. You are learning, practicing, and building confidence as a caregiver. If something you hear in a session raises a concern, Mackenzie will help guide you toward the right next step, which may include a Bloom Consultation or a full evaluation at Communication Blooms.
-
Bring it. The small group format exists precisely because Mackenzie wants to answer real questions. If something needs more individualized attention, a Bloom Consultation is always available and Blooming Babies families receive priority scheduling.
-
Yes. Annual memberships can be cancelled before your next renewal date. 6-month memberships are paid in full upfront and are non-refundable but require no further commitment after the term ends.
-
Due to the small group and limited nature of Blooming Babies, all sales are final. We cap every session at 6 families, which means your spot is held exclusively for you once payment is made.
-
Life with a baby is unpredictable. We get it. Missed sessions are not refunded or rolled over, but you still have full access to weekly virtual office hours and our private Telegram community that month.
-
We do not offer pauses at this time. If something comes up, reach out to us directly at [email] and we will do our best to work with you.
